A 5-star hit at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Dallas writer-performer Elaine Liner's poignant solo comedy feels "like you’re listening to a friend who really, really needs to tell you some stories," says the Dallas Morning News. Dallas Voice named it one of the year's 10 best shows on DFW stages. Bring your knitting (or crocheting) and stitch along as Elaine shares her obsessions with great literature (that mentions knitting), old movies (in which Bette Davis knits) and the romantic entanglements of knitting sweaters for significant others. Come early and add stitches to the traveling scarf that goes with Elaine to all performances. Follow @thesweaterplay on Twitter.

BIOS
ELAINE LINER (PERFORMER)
Elaine Liner is a Dallas native and graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, with a degree in theater from Trinity University, where she was a student of Dallas Theater Center founder Paul Baker. Mr. Baker's philosophy of "Integration of Abilities" formed a solid framework for Elaine's 35 years of work as a journalist and, starting in 2012, as a playwright. She has written for the Dallas Observer since the 1980s and has worked on assignment for The New York Times, US, USA Today, TV Guide, Glamour and many others. A former playwright-in-residence at the Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio, Elaine was a critic fellow at the O'Neill Crtics Institute in 2006. She debuted SWEATER CURSE at the Sweet/Grassmarket Theatre for 26 performances at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Tim Hedgepeth (DIRECTOR)
Tim Hedgepeth is a professional director based in San Antonio, Texas. His recently stagings include LES MISERABLES, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and RED. He earned a degree in Theatre from Trinity University (where he and Elaine met as undergrads) and an MFA in Directing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tim teaches Theatre at Northwest Vista College and is the recipient of five awards from the Alamo Theatre Arts Council for Excellence in Acting and Directing.
